Kamal Da Phul: Literally, "The Lotus Flower" is one of the most popular and beloved flowers in the Phulkari tradition. As the word Phulkari itself suggests a several flowers such as Lotus, Cottonflower and Sunflower (Surajmukhi - Literally, "The Face of the Sun") are created in the form of highly stylized motifs.
The Lotus has a special role to play in Punjabi culture and in the rest of the Indian Sub-continent. It is considered a symbol of spirituality, fruitfulness
