Darshan Dwār - "Door to the Divine"
"Woven Through Time" features Artworks inspired from Phulkari and Punjab. Sometimes these are attempts at reproducing rare heirloom Phulkari patterns and encouraging our Artisans to explore them and embrace them once more!
Our Artwork "Darshan Dwār" is part of this endeavor and one of our extremely talented artisans, Harjeet Kaur, took the challenge and she created a gorgeous Darshan Dwār Phulkari, which on view at our Singapore Exhibition (August 19-20, 2017).
DARSHAN DWĀR: Literally, "The Door to the Divine" Artwork is inspired by a 20th century Bagh Embroidery that currently belongs to The Philadelphia Museum of Art in Pennsylvania, USA. This artwork is 18” wide x 18" long; acrylic on canvas and framed with a Phulkari Border.
